The Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines Inc. – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – Western Region Chapter conducted its 2ND technical seminar titled Audio Production & Engineering at La Parilla Restaurant, Jeddah City, Saudi Arabia. There are 26 Professionals in the event from various parts of the Western Region, such as Jeddah, Makkah, Taif and Yanbu. Jeddah City, Saudi Arabia.
It started at 8 am in the morning, a Prayer by Sir Rafael Ramirez, and privilege speech by Engr. Ryan Boquiren where the respected speaker Engr. Lamberto Reyes Jr was introduced. The speaker was an engineer, a singer and song writer. He has competed and featured in reality show competition in Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2, has made an album with Warner music “Tagalized hits by David Idol” and “Cello and Lambert”, has written songs for Christian Bautista, Sitti, General Luna, and Zendee Tenerefe, and various artist, and was recently featured on Wish bus 107.5 last January 2017. At present, he was employed as Operations Engineer in Saudi Technology and Security Comprehensive Control Co. for Traffic Violations in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Engr. Reyes started the discussion about the audio production basics, equipment’s, cables, software’s, room treatment and best practices. He was able to delivered well the topic although we have a short time speaking of “audio production as the topic”, he shows the mastery of subject matter.
He shows his software tools in making a music in a breeze with different instruments in a song composition. He shows the real-world studio projects and shows his technical skills with advanced recording, editing, mixing and mastering techniques, song arrangement, chord structure and harmony. The topic is really comprehensive and difficult but he made it look really easy in the eyes of participants.
At 12 noon, we got a break and ate our delicious lunch meal. Engr. Reyes played his song composition using Reaper software tool. He let us listen to his compositions sang by a celebrity artist like Sitti, Christian Baustista, General Luna and a lot more. Also, there was a raffle draw which sponsored by ENI lubricants by Sir Rafael Ramirez.
Right after our lunch meal, he conducted a hands-on application on how to use the Reaper Software.
A sample record sang by John to demonstrates how to edit a voice to refine a better tune. It was amazing that even though you are not a good singer, through software you can have a chance to become a professional singer.
Before the seminar ends at 5pm, Engr. Reyes sang live to the audience (“Enter the Sandman by Metallica”)
Furthermore, a plaque of Award was given to Engr. Lamberto Reyes and distribution of certificate to all attendees.
Audio Production and Engineering seminar has ended and around 4:30 pm a group picture for the Second Technical Seminar for Year 2017 has been organized.
