The Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines Inc. – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – Western Region Chapter conducted its first ever Annual General Meeting Assembly.
The event was attended by thirty-two Electronics Professionals from various parts of the Western Region, such as Jeddah, Makkah, Taif and Yanbu. The Annual General Assembly was held in La Parilla Restaurant in Jeddah City, Saudi Arabia.
The Technical Speaker for the event was Engr. Janil R. Reyes an engineer working at King Khalid International Airport as systems engineer. His expertise is in Embedded Systems and Microcontrollers.
Engr. Reyes started the discussion on the History of Embedded Systems and introduced the microcontrollers. He discussed how the system works and up to its core components. He presented the PIC Microcontroller and demonstrated its functionality. He emphasized on its capabilities and purposes. He demonstrated how the device would be coded.
A lunch buffet was served at around 11:30.
After the lunch break, Engr Jan Faraj Sulaiman J. Haddad (IECEP KSA WRC Chapter President) took the stage and reported about the chapter activities such as the previous seminars as well as membership status. He also presented the various services the chapter now offers such as professional upgrades. After the chapter presentation, Engr. Leonil C. Cagcon, presented the chapter’s finance reports for chapter transparency.
After the presentations, Engr. Reyes, continued with the seminar. The second part of his seminar focused on the Arduino. He explained what the Arduino is, what it does and what it is for. He prepared short sample codes and showed how it all works together.
After the Technical Seminar, the election proper was conducted for the officers of IECEP KSA WRC 2017. The certificates for the attendees and plaque for the speaker was then distributed. Additionally, all the officers for years 2016 were given plaque of recognition as well.
